Availability is key; maintenance lags behind

In automotive production, the cycle time depends on each piece of equipment. Three problems cost you uptime and documentation.

Fault reports are handled by phone, and time passes until the right technician arrives
Maintenance goals require key performance indicators; the data is in Excel
Tools and testing equipment are managed alongside plant management
Verschiedene Datensilos, die um Maschinen und Anlagen herum bestehen. Aus Excel-Tabellen, Emails, Telefondaten etc.

Increase Availability and Demonstrate Results

A digital foundation for equipment, tools, and test equipment. Respond faster, analyze data accurately.

A production error report is sent directly to the appropriate technician
Key metrics on outages, response times, and maintenance compliance derived directly from the data
Tools and test equipment in the same system as the equipment, including owners

What SIMPL Can Do Specifically in the Automotive Supply Chain

From fault reports on the production line to the key metrics for your TPM system.

Fault Reporting & Operations Control

From a standstill to an assignment in minutes instead of phone calls

Workers, shift supervisors, or plant operators can submit reports digitally, via mobile device, or at a terminal. The maintenance team sees the report immediately.

Collect, prioritize, and assign reports centrally
Attachments, history, and open issues are immediately visible on the ticket

Tools & Testing Equipment

Tools, molds, and inspection equipment in a single system

Maintenance scope isn’t limited to equipment. Tools and test equipment also require information on their location, condition, and history.

Tools, molds, and testing equipment are recorded as separate assets
Deposited by the owner, even for tools owned by the customer
Structure up to eight levels deep, from the plant to the application

Frequently Asked Questions: Maintenance Software for the Automotive Industry

What are the benefits of maintenance software in the automotive supply industry?

SIMPL consolidates fault reports, maintenance schedules, equipment, tools, and feedback in one place. Reports from production are sent directly to the appropriate technician, preventive maintenance becomes traceable, and the key metrics for your TPM system are generated from day-to-day operations.

How do I use key performance indicators to demonstrate that the required maintenance targets have been met?

A documented TPM system in accordance with IATF 16949 requires measurable maintenance goals, such as equipment effectiveness, mean time between failures, repair time, and compliance with preventive maintenance. SIMPL provides the data foundation for this based on recorded reports, service calls, and due dates. It’s up to you to decide which goals to set and how to evaluate them.

What happens if a maintenance goal is not met?

The standard requires regular reviews of the maintenance schedule and targets, as well as a documented action plan with corrective measures if targets are not met. In SIMPL, you can see early on where maintenance is overdue or where outages are becoming frequent, and you can create and track actions as work orders.

Can we manage tools and testing equipment as well, including those owned by customers?

Yes. Tools, molds, and inspection equipment are tracked as separate assets, with their location, condition, history, and assigned owner. This also allows tools owned by the customer to be clearly distinguished. The structure goes up to eight levels deep, so even individual parts of a tool can be mapped.

Can we track spare parts and their usage?

Yes. Spare parts can be assigned to each piece of equipment, and their usage is tracked when they’re used. This lets you see which parts are regularly needed for which equipment, giving you the basis for maintaining inventory based on actual demand. SIMPL does not include its own inventory management system with minimum quantities and reorder points; that remains the responsibility of your ERP system. The two systems can be connected via integrations.

Can multiple plants operate within the same system?

Yes. Equipment, tools, and responsibilities can be organized by location so that each plant maintains its own view while still allowing for cross-plant analysis. Existing systems can be integrated.

Intuitive operation that works right away

SIMPL is designed so that technicians, service managers, and workshop teams can start working with it right away—without lengthy training and without feeling overwhelmed.
