Development in Germany
For industrial companies that do not want to send machine and service data to the USA or Asia. SIMPL is developed in Germany, operated in certified German data centers and meets the strictest European data protection standards.

Machine builders, plant operators and industrial service providers work with sensitive data: Machine configurations, maintenance histories, circuit diagrams, customer data, internal process documentation. Many companies are also subject to NDA obligations towards their own customers.
If this data is stored in software, three questions arise: Where is it stored? Who has access? And under what law is it stored?
SIMPL has clear answers to these questions.
SIMPL is developed entirely in Dortmund. The entire product team is based in Germany – no offshore development, no distributed locations in third countries.
This means short distances, direct communication and a team that knows the requirements of German industry from its own experience. Feature requests from day-to-day business – such as those regularly submitted by VHV Anlagenbau or thyssenkrupp – flow directly into product development. There is no offshore ticket between customer feedback and implementation, but a personal meeting.
SIMPL runs on Azure infrastructure with a focus on Germany (Frankfurt region). Other European data centers are used for individual services. All customer data is processed and stored exclusively within the EU – as part of the Microsoft EU Data Boundary, which has been fully implemented since February 2025.
What that means in concrete terms:
No data transfer to third countries Customer data, machine data and documents do not leave the European Economic Area. There are no exceptions and no hidden data flows to the USA or other third countries.
ISO 27001 certified infrastructure The data centers used meet the international standard for information security management. This is the same standard that banks and insurance companies work to – with regular external audits.
GDPR-compliant All personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR. SIMPL concludes a data processing agreement (DPA) with each customer.
Encryption at all levels Data is encrypted both during transmission (TLS) and at rest. Even in the theoretical case of unauthorized access, the data cannot be used without decryption.
In addition to the secure infrastructure, SIMPL offers security functions that also meet the requirements of large industrial companies:
Role-based access management Who can see and edit which data can be controlled granularly – from the technician in the field to the managing director.
Single Sign-On (SSO) SIMPL can be integrated into existing company authentication – for secure and seamless login via existing identity management.
Audit trail All changes to critical data are logged and can be traced. Important for companies that have to undergo audits or fulfill verification obligations.
Regular security checks The platform is regularly checked for vulnerabilities – by external experts.
Automatic backups Daily data backups ensure that no data is lost – even in the worst-case scenario.
