VHV Anlagenbau Customer Reference – Technician Scheduling and Mobile Logs with SIMPL
Company

Material handling specialist since 1995. From design and manufacturing to commissioning at the customer’s site.

Background

Installation planning, drawings, and paper forms scattered across separate systems. Time spent searching for documents, duplicate data entry, and missing documents on site.

With SIMPL

Planning, forms, and documentation—all in one place. The team grew, and the back office became more streamlined.

"

It was important to us that we could plan our technicians’ schedules easily and efficiently and that the forms could be filled out quickly on-site. With SIMPL, we now have everything in one place: drawings, documents, and photos. What we especially like is that we’re working together to further develop the solution and can see that our feedback is truly being incorporated.

The Starting Point

Planning, drawings, and forms were scattered across separate systems

VHV Anlagenbau has been developing and manufacturing material handling systems since 1995, handling everything from design and production to on-site commissioning at the customer’s location. In day-to-day installation work, this means that installers must be assigned to jobs, forms such as acceptance reports and test reports must be filled out quickly and accurately on site, and all relevant documents—including drawings, technical documentation, and photos—must be readily available.

Before SIMPL, this information was scattered across various systems. Assembly planning was handled in a separate tool, technical drawings were stored on the server, and forms were filled out on paper and later typed up in the office. For the team, this meant unnecessary time spent searching for information, duplicate data entry, and sometimes missing documents at the job site because the right document wasn’t readily available.

Especially in project management, where material-handling systems are custom-designed and built, the lack of centralized access to all information was a recurring problem. The larger the project, the more coordination was required between the office and the installation team.

The Journey with SIMPL

Everything you need to know about installation, step by step, all in one place

1

Assembly Planning Using the Digital Planning Board

The assignment overview shows the team at a glance which technician is scheduled for which job, when, and where. Changes due to illness or rescheduled customer appointments can be updated in real time using drag-and-drop. This links the schedule directly to orders and documents.

2

Digitally capture forms right on site

Acceptance reports, inspection reports, and installation checklists are now filled out on a smartphone right on-site. Photos can be embedded, and signatures can be captured digitally. The results are immediately available in the system, without any media discontinuity and without having to retype them in the office.

3

Drawings, photos, and documentation all in one place

Technical drawings, schematics, project photos, and customer documents are all consolidated in SIMPL and can be accessed by any technician on-site. This eliminates the need to search the company server or carry around printed folders.

4

Joint Further Development

Feature requests based on everyday assembly work are incorporated directly into SIMPL’s product development. Assembly Manager Jens Rumker and his team test new features and provide regular feedback. This leads to improvements that are rooted in real-world experience and work effectively in everyday use.

The result

Manage more service calls with less administrative work

Clear Installation Planning

The schedule board shows at a glance who is scheduled where and when, and can be updated in real time as changes occur.

Fill out forms on your mobile device without having to make corrections later

Inspection reports, acceptance reports, and checklists are recorded on-site and are immediately available in the system. No paper, no retyping.

All documents always at your fingertips

Drawings, photos, and documentation are stored centrally and can be accessed at any time at the job site.

Software Based on Real-World Experience

VHV plays an active role in shaping the further development of SIMPL. Feature requests based on day-to-day assembly work are incorporated directly into the product.
